rattle can art....

I've had several requests for some "guy crafts"  and this one certainly fits the bill.

With a can of spray paint,

and chainrings (or any cool objects) you can create some fun artwork.

I used these canvases that were screaming to be updated.

I painted them a solid color,

and placed the chainrings onto the canvas.

Don't try to be too perfect with the spray paint, the imperfections actually look cool.

This is such a fun and easy project!

old shirt seeking new life...

  As requested, here is a good craft for the fella's. This is a great way to utilize an old shirt that has picked up some stains along the way.

All I used was my metallic spray paint,

 some chainrings,

 and an old t shirt.

I put some cardboard inside the shirt so the paint wouldn't seep through and then placed the chainrings onto the t shirt.

 Just one coat of spray paint and your old shirt is new and cool again.

This is crafting that guys can totally get behind.

apathetic rocks...

Add a touch of humor to your yard with these funny and apathetic rocks.

  

Inspirational engraved rocks are so last season.

Grab your trusty can of spray paint for craft #2.

Search your garden for a geological stash.

Letter stickers will work perfectly for your "snarky" remarks.

Place the rock on some newspaper.

Spray it with the paint, once it's dry remove the stickers and you're set.

1 can of spray paint, 3 crafts....

This art project is so modern and easy it's impossible to make a mistake.

The next 3 crafts will use this spray paint, any color would work, this one is called satin nickel.

All you need is some foliage and a sheet of paper.

Get creative and search your yard for something cool.

Spray the paint onto the plant and the paper.  The more paint you use, the more defined the shapes will be.

Let the paint thoroughly dry.

Update your old frames and use the mat to help determine the composition you want.   Enjoy your new custom artwork.

These finishing touches are fantastically frugal.

I purchased sheets of paper that matched the fabric (and ran into an old friend down the paper aisle, shout out to super cute Angie).

Using 7 sheets of paper, I cut out flags,

stapled them to a ribbon,

and hung them above the table.

To utilize the scraps try replicating parts of the pattern,

I glued the flowers and a stem onto wooden skewers, 

then stuck them into an old flower pot.

It's really easy to turn a get together into an event with a few special touches.

optical illusion...

I needed to decorate a buffet table and large dining table.  Unfortunately, I fell in love with this crazy expensive material and could only afford 1 3/4 yards...so I had to get creative.

I cut a piece the width of the buffet table,

and under a foot off the end for a small runner,

sewed the edges,

and stuck painters tape around it. 

Instead of using it as a barely fitting table cloth, I put it up above the table since it would be better utilized and create a bigger impact.

The remaining material was cut lengthwise, 

sewn around the edges,

folded over and one end sewn together.

The runner was created for the long dining table.
