the kids table....

The kids table is always the most fun place to be on Thanksgiving. The centerpiece is a leftover pumpkin from Halloween, I poked holes and used them as a crayon holder. I added some eyes and a red thing (seriously, what is that called on a turkey?) and it made a pretty cute face. I used craft paper instead of a table cloth that way it doesn't matter what spills and the little ones can draw right on it with the crayons from the centerpiece. Set the table with your fun dishes (these are from Pier1) and don't forget the crazy straws! I'm having dinner tonight with a 70 and 60 year old and you bet we're sitting at this table!!

These mini pumpkin pies can be used as a place card....yes I burned them.....I never claimed to be very Martha-ly only very Heatherly :-) The little pie crusts are down the baking aisle at the grocery store.

center of attention

Here's a really easy centerpiece for Thanksgiving festivities. Run material down the center, toss on some fall foliage, light a few candles, and add some glass beads for sparkle. On a personal note, those who know me well know that every piece of clothing I own either has a bleach, Sharpie, or paint spot...now I can add burned sleeve cuff to my wardrobe. I got a little careless while snapping one of this pictures. I guess I'm branching out!
